Invention is the child of necessity. Needing something is the dad of inspiration. Innovation is the daughter of desire.
I’m trying not to use the classic adage because it’s such a cliche at this point but, boy, does it ring true, so I thought I’d try a few twists on the original.
Toasty Touch is a textbook “necessity leads to invention” creation. It came about because I have a really bad case of Raynaud’s.
Not the mild kind unfortunately that flares up just in the winter but the maddening kind that afflicts me every time I wash my hands. I needed a reliable and convenient way to warm my hands that didn’t exist.
Three years ago, I had an aha moment and I went for it. I stood at what felt like the edge of a cliff, and jumped, creating Toasty Touch Ultra Thin Heated Gloves.
Toasty Nation, you caught me.
I had no idea the heated gloves I was creating would be a hit.
Your stories of never giving up have inspired me. You’ve poured out your hearts in reviews, emails, and comments, writing eloquently about the struggle of having freezing cold hands. There are so many of us. We are in this together.
Toasty Touch gloves aren’t perfect. Perfection would be barely feeling like you’re wearing gloves, keeping your fingers your ideal temperature, and being able to use your fingertips without impediments.
I want you to know that we are deeply committed to making every version of Toasty Touch better and better. Your brilliant and insightful input combined with my own experience with frozen-white fingers are a powerful force. Together, we will move toward a world where we can all have warm hands and live our lives as unencumbered as possible.
As we celebrate Toasty Touch’s third birthday, I am filled with gratitude for all of you who have believed in a company created not by a corporation but by a patient who was fed up with being told there was nothing anyone could do to help.
Well, guess what. You helped! You gave me hope. You keep me going.
This is only the beginning. Which reminds me: Don’t you feel hip for being an “early adopter” of the world’s thinnest heated gloves. You totally should.
Thank you for the support, friends. I look forward to wowing you with the best heated gloves on the market for years to come.
